This is one of those formulas that works every time without trying too hard. The blazer and trousers do the structural work — clean lines, tailored, immediately formal. The dupatta adds the Indian element without changing the silhouette. The thin belt at the waist is the detail that pulls it together — it stops the dupatta from reading as an afterthought and makes the whole look intentional. The dupatta here is a Pochampally ikat silk — woven in Telangana, one of India's most recognised handloom traditions. The ikat pattern is created by resist-dyeing the threads before weaving, which gives it that characteristic, slightly blurred geometric quality. It has enough weight to drape well and enough pattern to be the focal point without competing with the blazer. For evening and formal events — go darker on the blazer. Navy, forest green, deep burgundy. Let the dupatta carry the colour or the texture. For day events — lighten the blazer to camel, ivory or soft grey.
