Kulfi inspired

Inspiration isn't always something you search for. Sometimes it's a kulfi on a summer afternoon. The colours were already there — rose deepening into cream, pistachio bleeding into that particular dusty gold that only exists in Indian sweets and Indian light. A palette that's been around for centuries, quietly sitting in street carts and mithai shops, completely unbothered by trends. This is what I mean when I say India is a colour archive. Not museums or monuments — though those too. The everyday things. The things you walk past and don't think twice about until one day you do. For the outfit: build from one of the kulfi colours as your base. The cream or the pistachio, if you want something quieter. The rose, if you want the look to announce itself. Then layer the others in as accents — a dupatta, a bag, a piece of jewellery. You're not matching, you're referencing. There's a difference. The palette works across Indian and Western dressing equally. A rose silk blouse with pistachio earrings. A cream saree with a dusty gold border. A pistachio kurta with a cream dupatta. The kulfi already figured out the combinations. You're just borrowing from it.
