Bandhani is one of India's oldest resist-dyeing traditions — practised in Gujarat and Rajasthan for centuries. The dots aren't printed or stamped. Each one is hand-tied with thread before dyeing, then released to reveal the pattern. A single saree can have thousands of individual ties. I wore this in Goa, and that felt right. Bandhani has always had an ease to it — the lightweight fabric, the scattered dot pattern, the way it moves. Resort dressing without trying to be. The drape here reads as a dress — or a co-ord, depending on how you look at it. That ambiguity is the point. It doesn't need to be categorised. It just needs to be worn. For this drape, I started with a regular drape but wore the pallu across the chest and tucked it at the waist. I completed the look with simple flat sandals and a cane clutch.
